It will be here before you know it! Chestertown’s own Kent County Fair comes to town this July 16, 17 and 18, 2015!
Just like most county fairs in the USA, you’ll find lots of food, livestock, exhibits, rides, music, and much, much more! Watch in amazement as the brave take on the bull, laugh in merriment at the greased-pig contest, try your hand at the Corn Hole Tournament and pick out your favorite dessert to purchase at the cake auction. Each night features different featured foods including pork barbecue, chicken barbecue, pit beef and a fish fry.
The Fair opens to the public on Thursday, July 16 at 9:00 a.m. This also happens to be Senior Citizens’ Day when guests 60 years old and over can attend for free! During the day, the small animal, poultry and goat shows take place. Senior Bingo happens until noon. There is also a dog show in the Horse Ring in the late afternoon. The Midway opens at 5:00 p.m. for rides, the Pit Beef Dinner, the formal opening ceremonies, face painting and more. The tractor pull starts at 7:00 p.m.
Friday, July 17 commences at 8:00 a.m. and is a day full of activities! There’s the Livestock Show, 4-H Fashion Review, pony rides, greased pig contest, pie eating contest, and Patty Cake the Clown for all the kids! Excitement on the Midway opens at 4:00 p.m.
Some will argue that Saturday, July 18 is the most exciting day of the fair, and that just might be the case. With horse shows, the Dairy Cattle Show, Antique Tractor Pull, Corn Hole Tournament, Pedal Power Tractor Pull, Turkey Calling Contest, Pony Rides, Cow Plop Bingo, 4-H Livestock Auction, 4-H Cake Auction, and more! The Midway opens at 12:00 p.m. and stays open until 11:00 p.m. for a full day of fun and excitement!
You’ll find the Fair at 21349 Tolchester Beach Road. See an activity above that interests you? Find out exact times on the Kent County Fair Schedule.
