Planning to come to Chestertown over the Independence Day holiday? You won’t be disappointed in the events happening this entire week! From the very start of the month through the entire July 4, 2015 weekend, Chestertown is jam-packed with fun activities for the whole family!
Thursday, July 2 (and before): The Wheelmen come to Chestertown to demonstrate riding of antique bicycles! Between June 30 and July 2, 2015 the talented group features bicycles made before 1915.
Thursday, July 2: swing by the Custom House Lawn at 101 South Water Street at 6:30 p.m. for the second in the series of Washington College Free Riverfront Concert Series performances by the Back Porch Blues (bring something to sit on).
Friday, July 3: The Artists Gallery presents a painting exhibit (oils and watercolor) at 239 High Street.
Friday, July 3: Chestertown’s 1st Fridays continue!
Friday, July 3: The first area fireworks take place, and you can see them right here at the Great Oak Manor grounds! Mears Great Oak Landing, located just across the Fairlee Creek inlet from us, begins their celebration at 9:30 p.m.!
Saturday, July 4: RiverArts (opens up their KidSPOT between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for learning and creative problem-solving.
Saturday, July 4: Come to Fountain Park a little early for Music in the Park before the fireworks show from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, July 4: Dusk brings the town’s very own Independence Day Celebration with fireworks that will make you “Oooh” and “Aaaah”! Make your way to Wilmer Park on the River (at South Cross and South Water Streets) for the best view!
With all this going on, you certainly won’t be bored! So come on out to Chestertown to celebrate the 4th!
